RE: Democratic Party drops "God" in its platform

Clinton saying "god" all the time isn't very surprising to me. Shit, I do it all the time, myself. I don't really put any meaning in the word, and if anything it's taken on a cynical, sarcastic sort of meaning.
A_T, I would like to point out that the US is one of the most religiously active nations in the developed world, and leads the world in evangelism. And we're also considered by the entire world to be a titanic implosion being viewed in slow-motion. It's a pretty sad facet of believers that the non-inclusion and secularization of a voting party will sway them away from it. If you need god that much that the very lack-of-mention is all it takes to swing you away to the other party just because they do mention god, you're pretty "god-damn" pathetic.
It's funny. The religious love to spew bullshit about how it is our lack of faith in god that is turning this country astray, yet all statistics point to areas with greater numbers of non-believers generally being more intelligent, less blinded by nationalism, and committing lower crimes of all kinds [other than marijuana-related, I can only assume], whereas the areas with the most fervent, ardent believers have the highest crime rates, lowest education scores, and generally are just less pleasant places to be if you find any truth in cold hard numbers [which you should unless you're a twit]. I also can't help but notice that the louder and more prominent the evangelicals have gotten politically in this country, the worse this country has gotten. Fuckin' George Bush was basically the embodiment of evangelical christians having their way with policy-making. And oh, let's just look at how much that godly dicksucking did for us- OH SHIT IT FUCKING TANKED OUR ECONOMY, FOREIGN POLICY, AND FEDERAL FISCAL BALANCING HOLY SHIT WHO WOULD'VE GUESSED.
I'm not expecting much in the ways of intelligence from you though, A_T. I'm pretty sure you just don't like Obama for the sole reason of he's a democrat. Very deep thinking comes from you on a daily basis, I am sure.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm not going to tell anyone to stop believing but we in the US seriously need to get the wall between Church and State built up much higher because Church has been invading State a lot lately.

In truth, the Christian-Democrats of Europe, although still conservative, are not known to use religion as a means of gaining votes.
Such things are anti-democratic, and anti-secular by default.
Not to say that people ought to take a negative stance towards religion as part of their platforms, but a completely neutral stance.
