Look, I literally conceded the possibility that I misconstrued the whole thing earlier on. So if he is in fact innocent he shouldn't be offended and neither should you jump to his defense. I can see how that can be a hard pill to swallow but it's certainly the correct one.

Taking the high moral ground for the sake of defending some other doesn't automatically put you in the right. The world doesn't work that way. It's not all black and white. I'm not a lunatic who's going to get on this guy's case every time he comes near me and I'm perfectly ready to forget the whole thing the next time he confronts me in a serious manner.
