Apparently the first one is not that concerning as it's forecasted to turn south (poor puna....again). but the second one is so close on it's heels, it's being pushed up, directly up into the north eastern face of the Big Island. I'm pretty much at the northern most tip.(August 30, 2016 at 11:35 pm)Arkilogue Wrote: Thanks. Looks like the first one will turn a bit south but the second one is forecasted to landed pretty much on my doorstep.
Are they planning on evacuating your area? Do you have relatives that you can stay with until this blows over? (No pun intended there)
No relatives, just my wife and 3yr old son.
There are several schools with gymnasiums and if things look really bad, people will probably be evacuated to them. But we're at 500' elevation so the ocean is no concern....but 100+mph winds on single wall sugar shacks is. My house is modern and hopefully solid enough....but a great many around here aren't.
