Yeah, he is. His best performance was Man in the Moon. But I don't think he's bad in the Truman Show or Bruce Almighty either. Suffice to say that I called the movie you mentioned always Ass Ventura.

I dug the Ace Ventura movies myself. And while Truman Show did change my opinion on what he could pull off, his best acting work for me was probably the introverted character he played in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
