That is strictly forbidden on chess.com, and they run checks on various people's games to see if a chess engine is likely being used. If you're rating is over 2000, they will check regularly, and if under maybe if a complaint is filed by someone.
Frankly I don't see the fun in cheating by using a computer to pick your next move, because if I wanted to set up a couple of computers to play each other I could do that fairly easily. I would get no satisfaction in watching my computer beat someone, but plenty of satisfaction if I do it myself using my own brain power.
That being said, if someone is quick enough they can cheat during a live game, too.
