More about God

RE: More about God
(November 12, 2016 at 8:49 am)robvalue Wrote: Okay, the reason you give for why I should care isn't very compelling. It's like telling me who built my house. Interesting but ultimately irrelevant. Even if they technically still own the house in some sense, but never show up to do anything about it, then again it doesn't matter to me.

You've convinced yourself you're a slave, that's rather sad. I'm a slave to no one. If I am in some sense a slave, I'm not aware of it and so again it is irrelevant. I'm restricted by physics of course, including what other life forms do to me. That's just life.

Life began with him; it shall end with him, too, in your example it's not just the house; but everything, including the "ability to build" itself; the meaning if build itself was made by him. Things have meaning because he said so. We eat because he wanted it that way. We also live because he said so.

Aren't we slaves of our own bodies? prisoners of our own bodies? I can't lie to myself, and neglect a logical fact, or next thing you'll find me jumping from a mountain thinking I can fly. Knowing that I'm a "property of my limitations as a human" can at least save me for a day or two. Or may I say a "slave of my own body"?

Sickness though, has its way for example to convince us with this fact.

Jesster

Like I told Rob: everyday, we wake up to find ourselves locked inside our bodies, forced to go to the toilet, forced to eat, forced to drink, forced to produce dopamine during a sexual intercourse, forced to even breath.

We love to call these with different names though like hunger, thirst or love...etc.

We call them anything but the real names: "Acts which we are forced to do; as humans".
an example is when somebody stays under water for too long without air. They forcefully open their mouths to breath.

Slavery to God is nothing but the above.
It's not working the garden or watch the cows.

Homeless Nutter

Quote:Even if we entertain this laughable notion - so what? He can own whatever he wants, as long as he doesn't touch my stuff.

How so? we humans create stuff, and claim ownership over it. So why does God has no right to create us, and claim ownership over us?
In terms of copyrights at least.

I don't know what you mean by "as long as he doesn't touch my stuff". Because your stuff would never exist if he didn't:
1-Make atoms
2-Make a universe
3-Make an earth
4-Make you
5-Make the ability of your stuff to be, the stuff you currently see. In other words, if he -for example- didn't make electricity, you will never see lots of stuff.

Quote:No, dumbass - the relation between us and him, in our language is described with the words "imaginary friend".

Blind anti-theism detected.
I have no time for that.

Quote:What about being a slave to the rhythm?

Dear God !
Okay..I have to inject an antidote:

Ain't he a victim of his own time?

Quote:What? If god doesn't need help, then why do dimwitted apes, like you, have to spread his message, beg, threaten and confuse other morons to believe it and make hand-waving excuses for your allegedly all-powerful god's impotence?

Because he's merciful. The thing is, all this life; all this, all this universe, is made for us.
Let's see:

1-A sun existing perfectly away from earth to allow human growth
2-A moon to give us light when the sun sets.
3-Too many examples in the cosmos for cold planets and what could've been the fate of our own earth if the sun was a little bit fat
4-An atmosphere to protect neanderthals like you from going extinct.
5-Ask a cosmologist about the other "odds" that made us exist here and now.

So It's all an act of mercy. Just like sex. He made humans into two; men and women; so they love each other and have fun as an act of mercy.
Food also is so nice, delicious, he could've made us like plants or bugs.

The voice of a guitar solo, and many other things that you know, realize and totally recognize as gifts given to you for free; things that you never made, things that existed even before your tiny arrogant existence.

Quote:That's nice. However - I created this post, just now, not god. I also took a sh*t this morning - all by myself. So god did not create everything, now, did he? Does Allah personally make your poop?

Yes !
Your digestive system is his creation. the best system ever. Only the ignorant smell the poop, and forget:

1-The hunger that brings desperation; or perhaps lack of energy
2-Bringing the food; either by hunt or by going to the supermarket or ordering some
3-The chewing
4-The taste
5-The food -that was a fancy plate or a nice looking sandwitch- ended up being a chewed pile inside the belly.
6-Stuff which are good for us get extracted, and the rest turns to an ugly, dirty, filthy, smelly pile that end up in the toilet
7-Count the similiarties between poop and life.
8-Ask doctors about the smell of a dead person
9-Ask an old person about who, where and when his/her health got extracted to feed an organ -sorry I mean person- in life
10-Congratulations. You only saw poop; that tells you a lot about what kind of mentality you have.

Quote:I'm sorry, all of that is meaningless drivel. Maybe you can use it to impress some dumb chick, wearing a bag, so that she gives you an over-the-pants hand-job...

Don't get me wrong. I'm God's slave; not sex's slave. I left the impressing to you  Tongue

Yeah, so do I. Mine goes like this:

Quote:La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
God can suck my d*ck.
