It's an underappreciated fact that in superstring theory, all the complexity of the laws of physics with the different forces and particles, actually come from the geometric structure of the 6 higher dimensions. The superstring alone is a very simple thing, all the messy particle physics comes from how they would move and attach in the higher dimensions
