Islam is an ancient religion that proved consistent in every culture around the world. In modern times we call it "Monotheism", surrendering to the single God dictated by the definition of Monotheism is exactly what the word "Islam means".
Let's break it; read it again:
Islam= surrender
To = the Monotheistic God
Ancient Chinese called him "Di". Ancient Israeli people called him "Yahweh". Christians called him the "lord/father". Arabs called him "Allah". Every civilization knew him; it was no secret.
Prophets were sent by the one God to warn humanity from a burning fire that awaits them, and how to survive and avoid it to a paradise that awaits them, after a day of judgement that their actions in this life shall be revealed to them, and they will be judged for every single thought they even had in this life.
Explaining the philosophy behind this is simple to our mind. The one creator, God, Yahweh, the lord, creates. His mercy engulfs everything, you can never picture if he didn't create the ability to picture; he created the thought and how we think; the logic; for there to be "a thought", he made that.
He is not a humanoid archer sitting on a mountain like the ignorants (who are BTW all dead now xD) once thought; he is not an Arab Sultan carrying a sword and having wide dances with Ali and his sons, he is not a father that gives birth to a "Jesus".
We have telescopes today. We can see what he makes. We can understand, the cosmos is so we understand.
So I worship him.
And ask you to do the same. Him, not the Sauds or Ali or Tehran's turbans or the Nato. Not the stars or the sun, or a black hole in the distant horizon.
But him. Surrendering to him is something you do everytime you breath; your body answers him wheather you liked it or not; we all die..
If he wants something to happen, he simply says "be". Didn't you read "The String Theory"?
So beautiful. And so he loves beauty too.
