It is offensive. Furthermore, you are intelligent enough to know that what "euros" have to say about Americans is irrelevant to this conversation. You are not being singled out. I would tell anyone who was using racial slurs to knock it off. We've had this conversation before. It cannot be too hard for you to avoid such comments. It's one thing to insult a person on their personal shortcomings. It is another to insult an entire geographic region because of some sense of superiority. Human worth is not dictated by geographic location.

Not to say that it's due to some sense of geographical superiority(which does not make sense, really), my grandfather is from Romania, some of the poorer EU countries(it wasn't a member back then though).
