@Sophia, assuming that all allegations of rape are legitimate accusations is no less absurd than assuming that they are all false allegations. You do not have to default to guilty to take a case seriously, and if you do so, you are not operating within the spirit or letter of the law. This does not help anyone, not even the victims, as it creates a system of justice whose ability to effectively mete out justice is severely compromised.
@Rocket, the report you sourced that statistic from appears to have had some serious flaws in either it's sampling size, or interpretation.
@Hitch, Rocket does not appear to be pro-rapist, and regardless of your quibble over statistics he is expressing a legitimate concern (even if his numbers are off) over something that does happen entirely too much, even by the most conservative or timid metrics. (I'm including rape, and false accusations of rape in this statement, as they both fall under the header "happens entirely too much")
Thanks for that altogether more balanced and carefully considered viewpoint on this subject.
Ok Mr. Fair and balenced where's your evidence I've been repeatedly asking for?
Hmmm Still up shit creek with no paddles on this one, conjecture after conjecture, find something else to argue about if you're going to be so easy to deal with.
