Their perspective was that the police shouldn't discriminate, especially as their child wasn't the drug dealer. That they had a duty to the community to remove that person from society.
So you think the criminal should literally get away with murder while denying any justice for the child, the child's mother, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and all other family members all who's only crime is being related to a drug dealer.
