Many years ago I knew a guy who was a shrink and contracted to do police recruit assessments for the county. He routinely flunked 1/3 of them but that wasn't the thing that bothered him. Under the contract he could only fail applicants who exhibited serious psychological problems at the time. He was not allowed to flunk the ones that he could see were heading down the road to developing anti-social behaviors. Otherwise the failure rate would have been 2/3. This was in the late 80's. I wonder what the rate would be now?
