Meh, I could care less about shit like this. That's not because I'm not American, I just think the whole political system is way more fucked up than one relatively minor thing like you brought up. I think if we are to 'change the world' as a species, we need some kind of revolution. Something big certainly needs to happen to have the kind of change you are talking about. In my humble opinion though, the world is filled with way too many stupid people for us to really do anything to 'save ourselves'. I don't mean that in an offensive way, but we as a species need some kind of massive idealogical shift if we are to change the current path we are walking down.

My 2 cents.

I find that rather ironic, as it often means that the people most qualified for office can not run. Infact if you look at it statistically, the more a person is educated the more secular they are, that is why some only 60% of university graduates believe in a god and of those far fewer are fundie's when compared to the general public. In fact I do not even understand why those statutes are there given the attitudes held by the founders
