I guess if at least one person has time to watch it and give me an opinion, it would be great. I have been participating in LGBTQ rights activism and am getting ready to dive into it deeper. Before I do that, however, I want people to stop thinking I'm an ally. It's funny that they still think that, since I have been pretty vocal about my ideas, my tattoo on my back is pretty darn clear, and I wouldn't deny the truth if they asked.Send this video to your entire family. GO. DO IT RIGHT FUCKING NOW FOR FUCK'S SAKE. DO IT.
The thing is that my parents came to visit last weekend and commented on a rally I will be attending. They made a few comments that I'm kind of hoping means they don't already know, because if they do and said that anyway... it would break my heart. My family was fundie for as long as I can remember. My brother and I are the only atheists. I have talked some sense into my parents and they are no longer theists, but do consider themselves deists. My sister is still a fundie. She is the one that I am worried about, because I might end up losing all contact with her.
The thing is that I'm truly passionate about defending lgbtq rights and standing up for equality. This has become a very important part of my identity. I have come to the determination that nobody, not even my family, will stop me from speaking up. I have witnessed enough discrimination, that if I stayed silent, I'd be ashamed of myself.
Keep in mind that I made this video for my parents and sister, so some things seem personal, like when I speak about growing up and memories. I was trying to help them remember I'm no stranger.
This video goes over the fact that I'm atheist and bisexual.
