During the Border Campaign of the 1950s, a young man called Fergal O'Hanlon was shot and killed during a raid on the RUC barracks in County Fermanagh. Dominic Behan wrote the following song about the event. Different people take different things from the lyrics, but to me it has always been about the futility and stupidity of war.
