Applies to politics and social issues too. I call myself a liberal but on economics and while also on social issues I do draw the lines at taboos on issues of religion and blasphemy. I do not think the way to problem solve is to walk on eggshells to protect the insecurities of the religious.
Ultimately we are individuals and should look at each other as such first, including atheists. I do not agree with everything other atheist say, and some views other atheists have on certain topics to me are immoral. Both Ayn Rand and Che economic views are to me immoral and too black and white. I have also run into atheists with other new age woo or si fi woo I find absurd. Those differences do not change our common position of "off" on god claims.
