Good on ya.
At 36, I changed gears from vet medical practice to mechanical engineering.
Going back to compete against under-grads after duking it out with a very select (tougher than med school) bunch of doctoral candidates was cake.
Then came 20 years of engineering in private sector industry which I will call intellectual combat with no holds barred.
Well, a few are barred.
You aren't supposed to hurt or kill your customer.
Making your customer happy is a good thing.
Not the greatest good. If your customer is too happy, you aren't charging enough.
But have some sympathy and help the lesser performers around you, you may be managing them later.
Working in a company is usually a team sport.
Or, shudder, they may be managing you.

So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?
