You are welcome.
It's an accurate representation for the religious ones only. There are many Muslims who choose not to think about it; and explicitly tend to say :
"leave these matters to the religious".
Because for the average Muslim, such sentence would put him/her in a very critical corner; that is :
1-Would the person reject the sentence ? because if so, then he/she rejected the core foundation of his/her sect : a Hadith admitted though the ages to authentic and real. Rejection means that the person is negating his/her own faith foundation. Usually this type of Muslim is escaping from something, mostly the guilt of accepting such acts.
2-Would the person accept the sentence ? because if so, then he/she is following what their sect is dictating by the book : he/she is following the Hadiths & the scholars' publications that make up their sects.
In conclusion, if a Sunni/Shia Muslim wants to become religious, he/she should believe that stoning is a valid sentence, or else, they will be negating their own faiths.
