An old chestnut of a favorite for me -- I first bought this album twenty-six years ago, on cassette (!). Harriet Wheeler's voice is to my ears just divine, the bassist, Paul Brindley, really nails it, and the guitars are a cross between the Byrds and the Cure, to my ears.
Lyrically, it didn't mean much to me back then, I just loved the sonics, but re-reading them now in my own circumstances, there are themes and tropes which really resonate.
I'm out on my porch in the country grilling some pork chops with this cranked a bit; it's a fine evening and I'm in love with life.
