5'8 isn't exactly dwarf height even for a guy. It's taller than the average woman, average for women is about 5'4 I think.

My Dad was never the best looking in the room (5'8, skinny, not fashionable, and balding even when he was young) but he always had the most women flocking to him, and it's because he had that charisma that people just took note when he entered the situation.
