The Subway brand is too big now for branches to still be carrying on like it's some little hole-in-the-wall place. I know that's part of the "character" of it, I don't care. There's too many people who go to Subway now, for literally every Subway I enter to only have all of 3 little tables to sit at, and only one person behind the counter serving. You can wait up to 20 minutes in a really busy time to get served, and then have nowhere to sit.
That's so interesting, that they choose a different branding in the UK. Here it's just a strip mall sammich shop. Normal amount of tables. Bad to mediocre subs. I wonder if it's just the type of shops that are available in the UK, or if they're choosing that model to sort of try and act like they're some old timey, been there forever type place.
I think it's the latter, I just get that vibe.
We have enough big potential-restaurant venues here that they could buy up and have a big place, most other very well known fast food joints here aren't like that (every McDonald's I can think of is huge). It just doesn't make sense how Subway do it here, even in the centre of big cities where it's guaranteed to always be busy. I could understand it if it was like out here in the suburbs or something
