CIJS;
looked up an old group I used to volunteer for and found out they are now defunct . . .
Damn. Put a bunch of effort into that, I was one of the very first ones to sign on once the core group went public with it. LOL, the director was never impressed with me, never figured it out. It was visceral, and literally from the first meeting I went to. Well, didn't matter much to me, I knew he was wrong in that regard and as long as there was no impact to the operation of the outfit, I didn't care.
Anyhow, did what I could and to my knowledge never fucked up anything, despite the paucity of training. And I remedied that by going outside the org and bringing back cross pollination from an other group that was a tad more organized. Even noted when I was helping with G his partner Stan was at some point in the not too distant future going to be a huge problem and I let others from the 'B' team help. Maybe I should have squawked more about Scott being a ding dong, maybe the director could have got him to perform at a little higher level.
Anyhow, the org is gone, and I was Googling different combinations of keywords and locations and managed to find out why they're gone. Their last director was killed in an accident (unrelated to the groups function). Still, the death was a mortal blow to the group and they folded soon after. I'll take that as it is . .
. . . and a curiosity. The original director? The one who didn't much care for me, he's done fucking vanished. Granted, I'm no sleuth, but J, where'd you go?? I don't think you're dead, obits are easy to find, and there isn't one with your name on it. So where did you go?!?!?! And why did you leave no trace? Yeah, I remember you being a pretty private person, but you started an organization that to this day, nowhere on anything on the internet that mentions them, lists your name. And not your employer either. And you were a freaking lightning rod at that place, hell, TV, newspapers, you were a local notable.
I saw a name and email for another volunteer, I'm sure she'll remember me. If your disappearance preys on me, I might contact her and see what I can find out. She was an angel. I recall her first public speaking event and she did so well, and I let her know.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
