Just remember that the places where you get injured, get injured because they are the parts you use most. That's why, once you get a splinter or something, EVERY time you touch something, it's at the site of that injury.
Many years ago, I put an addition on my previous house. I built the forms for the foundation from 4 by 4 posts and 2 by 6s for battens, because I'm a skinflint (OK, I really just grew up really poor, and couldn't just throw that wood out when I was done ) and had a use for that wood after the concrete was poured (one crude-ass workbench). I was knocking the boards apart with my 2 pound hammer, as they were held together with 16d smooth box nails; the boards slipped and I hit my left thumb with that hammer at full force. So, I'm squeezing my thumb with my right hand to get the capillary bleeding under enough control to keep from losing that thumbnail (it wasn't enough) and hopping around cussing a blue streak. That thumb hurt for weeks but I just soldiered on and got that addition built. Now, something like that happens, I just tell the family that that particular project is delayed while I heal.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
