There is hope that the brokenness of humanity will be fixed. Also, I don't know that humans are the 'final culmination' of God's perfect plan. There is more to God's plan than this life, this time, right now. Its not over.
I don't plan for something I don't think will happen. What will you do when you realize that Jesusism is true? If I'm wrong, I lose nothing. But if you are wrong, you lose everything. In light of eternity, I want to be right with my Creator.
I don't see Jesusism as likely, in fact it's practically impossible for it to be true. So why waste my time living a boring life for Jesus I have no interest in whatsoever? I'm willing to take that "risk" just as I'm willing to take the "risk" of going on the Luna Park rides. There's no real risk to be concerned about.
You are right. It is practically impossible for it to be true based on what we know and can observe. Thats part of what makes it so amazing that it is true. Thats why faith is so important. Personally, I don't think living for Jesus is boring at all. I greatly enjoy life, and find that it is made better by knowing Jesus. But to each his own. You are right that there is no real risk to be concerned about based on your assumptions. But if I am right, there is definitely a risk, and it is definitely real.
