He quotes studies and form informed opinions. I didn't even know how full of fake and propaganda the infamous wage gap was before I listened to Milo. Also, don't give me that shit about him being an asshole, yeah sure he is at times but if you go on YouTube and look for Milo Yiannopoulos debates you'll see that it is the liberals he is debating that is almost always the assholes while he always speaks on point. He's fabulous.
I think it's partly both. I did say it myself before that him being gay is almost like a marketing thing. It is what sets him apart from being the typical run-of-the-mill conservative (who is typically a heterosexual white man or sometimes woman) and it gets people listening. I also agree and have pointed out that he's a provocative buffoon who does say outrageous shit to wind people up. It's catty, it grabs your attention, and it can admittedly be very funny in my opinion.
You are right as well though, he does expose the worst in the Left. When you have situations where people will turn up and literally shout over him, or in one case bring a blowhorn to drown him out, it just shows how bad the Left have become on debating. We've really sunk that low as a society, to where we can't just let someone say what they have to say, and then if we have any confidence in our own arguments to come up with a real rebuttal. That's serious.
I can see what some people saw about this alt-Right movement also mirroring the people they claim to oppose though. There is identity politics and oversensitivity on the Right too. I'm just hoping we're going to see the rise of a strong centrist movement soon to bring some mainstreaming of rationality back.
