I love you Minn, but that is an oversimplification. Sure if you do something you should have recognition. NO you should not be a dick like Trump and take credit for shit you didn't do.
But the truth is it is ok to value the efforts of even those who didn't end up on top. Most people don't and most people are the backs the top stands on to make it to the top.
I do agree trying to combine religious apology into it is absurd. But it is ok to value someone who tries but doesn't make it because the math is simply not there for everyone to end up on the top all at the same time.
You only have one Superbowl winner at a time. But even if you are on the crappiest team that year, you still accomplished more than most college and HS players will.
Assholes like Trump say "sucks to be you". Saying " thanks for trying" isn't being a sore winner, but can teach the winner to be a gracious winner unlike asshole Trump.
