That's a convenient way for people to rationalize their apathy and antipathies, though. It also happens to be the way that the far right has framed the issue to build political capital against the center-right democratic establishment (which millennials also loathe, no love lost, though, since the democratic establishment ignores us anyway).
Unfortunately, folks drink the koolaid with surprising frequency.
I disagree and I believe you will be seeing more and more people leaning right as we saw with the Brexit vote and the support for Trump and the push to the right in Europe. It is starting to become common place to point out the ridiculousness of these things as you can see with very popular (with the young) comedians who talk about it all the time. You may think it odd that I would reference comedians like Bill Burr, Joe Rogan, Chris Rock, Daniel Tosh, Louis C.K, Dave Chappelle etc... but don't underestimate the power of comedy expose the ridiculous to the broader culture. When artists start piling on liberals I think it inevitable that people will start to think that liberals have no more claim to intelligence than conservatives and won't shy away from voting that way.
PC, SJW, safe spaces, etc.. may seem like small potatoes but tipping points based on small things happen all the time. I can't prove beyond a doubt any of this, but I see it happening everyday and I see the harm that misapplication of good intentions causes and I sense the anger against liberals that these "small" issues are causing.
I don't think my concern that a shift to the right because of this is misplaced.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.
