Last time I checked, my way of perceiving and comprehending was through my five senses; sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste. These are all components of experiencing human life, and are the most effective way to communicate anything to us; by appealing to one or more of the five senses. That is how 'life' is the message. Derp derp.
And my point is that, if atheism is such a grand enlightenment for you, why are you not more willing to share it with your brother? If it is something that would benefit him, why not share it? It may anger, insult, or hurt him, but in the long run wouldn't he thank you? If he accepted atheism and it turned out to be as beneficial as you claim it to be?
Without putting words in Thor's mouth, I'd guess it's because he'd rather his brother learns and thinks things out for himself? Thats how I came to the conclusion I was an Atheist, and im sure it's the same for a lot of people. I know religion works via being told what to think, but I think the key principle of Atheism involves free thinking. I have a younger Brother ( 12 years old) I have spoken with him about religion and he's not sure what he believes, I'm sure as fuck not going to tell him what to think. He knows my stance but all I've said to him is think things for himself and in the end it dosen't matter what he wants to think, it's his life.
