That might be a way of achieving peace of mind. Peace of mind is defined as the absence of stress or anxiety. For me, that means that it is a state that we constantly work to maintain once we achieve it, by learning how to deal with the pressures and anxieties of life. For you, it appears to be a constant and permanent state that is reached when you strip your physical existence of meaning or purpose.
My peace of mind is not affected by your explanation that I do not have it, nor is my happiness diminished by your claim that it isn't total or permanent. This is because I have learned to assign the proper import to such claims or comments from people who cannot accurately judge my thoughts or my life. In so doing, I can maintain peace of mind and happiness. I understand that for those who believe that there is only one path to such things, my approach has to be discredited. That's fine by me; if that's how you achieve peace of mind, then that's what you have to do.
The road to Rome are infinite.
We are all different so we see the way to progress under a different sky.
One thing that however is not different is Rome.
When everybody reach that stage the panorama is the same for all as it is the same when we reach human emancipation.
There can not be 2 -3 - 4 or infinite goal of life.
The goal is the same for everybody.
You are correct when you say...............For you, it appears to be a constant and permanent state that is reached when you strip your physical existence of meaning or purpose.
This however doesn't mean that i loss control of my physical-mental status.
Without a balance among these factors and the spiritual factor life would be a disaster so until the very end i have to carry on with what life present.
In the past i reach a stage in which i realized that i was not getting anywhere.
This usually is the crossroad that make you think about changing the way to proceed.
My understanding is that you still haven't reach that stage.
You feel comfortable with the way you still proceed.
I am sure that sooner or later you will realize that within the material-physical side there can not be any progress as the universe is balance by the positive and negative.
No matter how hard you may work.
Physical-material achievement are not progress but a way to stay afloat so they have nothing to do with real progress.
As soon as you solve one problem a different and more difficult problem arise so you never get anywhere but you still believe that you are progressing.
Progress come when the problem is solved for good not temporary but this issue will knock the door of your mind later on.
