RE: Don't mess with Texas religion! Ugh!
My experience has been limited to the region from Houston to Galveston. Didn't care for it.

"This is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, a lotta outs, a lotta what-have-yous. And, uh, a lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber."

If you were able to watch to the end you would note the loud cheers and clapping when they mentioned taking back the government from the secularists. Ugh!
I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise

“The governor of Texas, who, when asked if the Bible should also be taught in Spanish, replied that 'if English was good enough for Jesus, then it's good enough for me.”

....so he's against Wycliffe Bible translators? http://www.wycliffe.org/About.aspx

BTW I never knew how much of a fruit loop Rick Perry was until he ran for president. People here in Texas like him. He appeals to the cowboy personality. Get him out of his element and he looks like a fish out of water.

Article Wrote:“There has been an ongoing battle between the forces of atheism and the forces of those who are antagonistic to all things religious against those who recognize the religious heritage of this country,” Abbott said. “And by defending Nativity scenes, by defending the Ten Commandments and by defending students who try to say a prayer at a graduation ceremony, we’re trying to preserve, protect and defend what we know is perfectly legal.”

"...what WE KNOW is perfectly legal"

While I do agree that the comments and the quotations are epically stupid, I'm not going to think I'm not welcome somewhere because of a nativity scene. Still though, I'll just stay away from Texas in general.
