I believe its young. I obtained the knowledge I have from schooling, from reading books, and general research, as most have I would assume.
Of all choices, atheism requires the greatest faith, as it demands that ones limited store of human knowledge is sufficient to exclude the possibility of God.

No, you're not telling me the word of god, they're your words not his, I see no reason or evidence to suggest that you know god's words. If he wants to speak to me, then let him tell me his words, not you.
Now if you want me to take you seriously, you're going to have to back up your claims.
I'm examining your claims and to see if it has any evidence and value. So far, I've found none. You have yet to demonstrate that a god exists. Until then, claim - Rejected.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

And what books have you read?

He wrote a book..perhaps you've heard of it. The essential problem is your denial, it isn't because God is unwilling to communicate with you. If you were open to the truth He would lead you right to it.

This one??

Read the review of it schweedums?

Quote:Most reviewers of "The Language of God" seem quite overawed by its author's scientific credentials. This is understandable. As director of the Human Genome Project, Collins participated in one of the greatest scientific achievements in human history. His book, however, reveals that a stellar career in science offers no guarantee of a scientific frame of mind. Lest we think that one man can do no lasting harm to our discourse, consider the fact that the year is 2006, half of the American population believes that the universe is 6,000 years old, our president has just used his first veto to block federal funding of embryonic stem-cell research on religious grounds, and one of the foremost scientists in the land has this to say, straight from the heart (if not the brain):

Your truth you mean? Also god didn't write it, people did. Very uninformed people who knew next to nothing. You claim there is a god, now go demonstrate it. I won't be giving you and your claims any special treatment. I'm going to demand evidence as I would for any extraordinary claim.
If you can't provide any, then I will rule it out. Now there is no denial, I really don't believe in god. Still waiting for the claimers to demonstrate it's existence.

And what books have you read?

Total? Probably around 2000, if not more..along the way, many many science textbooks, origin of species, blind watchmaker, works of that nature..too many to list

You've already ruled it out. What I believe is that you already have sufficient evidence, and you are in denial. Unless the core issues of why you don't believe are dealt with, which are almost always personal and emotional reasons, arguing with you about it isn't going to do any good. You stand on your foundation of unbelief and ask me to knock you off of it, but no one can do that. No one can argue you into faith. You have to voluntarily step away from that position of willful unbelief and only then will you be open to the truth.

So in other words you can't demonstrate the existence of god? Well I expected as much. That's why you want me to....just take your word for it. The answer is no.
Also no, I don't have sufficient evidence. You haven't provided any!
I don't believe in god for the same reason I don't believe in fairies. There is no reason or evidence to support their existence. I don't believe in god for the same reason I don't believe in the tooth fairy. Got nothing to do with emotion or anything personal. That's just you putting words in my mouth. So no, no denial. Just pure out lack of belief. Also yes, I have already ruled it out. Sensible thing to do when it's unsupported and improbable religious nonsense.

Gee power...only 2000? Slow reader are you?? Or were they all regarding the same ideology over and over again??

We ask you to PROVE YOUR BELIEF ... we on the other hand do not have to believe that gravity or evolution works, and "speaks to us" all the time.
