Why Homosexuality is Okay
#51
RE: Why Homosexuality is Okay
We have a GSA at my school too, passionateguy. (Sorry, I just don't want to call you a p-fool when you're being all open and vulnerable.) It is hugely attended by students who are passionately supportive. The woman who runs it is the most popular teacher on campus and wide open with her lesbian self. (She has a crush on me and I love her a lot.) She and her partner have two little boys that are just about as butch as she is. No one is going to mess with these guys and if they do mama will crush them.

Honestly Mehmet, gay isn't so bad. It doesn't totally suck. You can also take it like a man (as I'm always encouraging my wife to do). Besides if you just don't want any gay sex, you don't have to! But you know what they say ... try it once and you're a philosopher, try it twice and you're pervert but if you don't ever try it you're just plain chicken.

Actually no. But it serves my purposes too. Now we come to think of gays as something resembling a common "nation" or at least a minority of their own, and you tried to pull off a game of words on that basis, linking homophobia to xenophobia or racism. Obviously, it's unrelated. I do not really distinct between different ethnicities of gays. All are equally gay, suffice to say....

You could use any modifier you wish. I chose "Turks" because it illustrates the ridiculous and offensive nature of this statement. I could have said "People who wear purple shorts" and it would be equally ignorant. Expressing bigotry towards someone on the basis that they are different from you is garbage regardless of whether the difference is nationality, race....or sexual orientation. It's called "the fear of the other", and it actually does cover all of these things, as they are intrinsically tied to each other. So, obviously, someone never paid attention in class.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

that sounds amazing! I'm glad the GSA there is going well. She sounds like a really wonderful person. Lol I laughed at "just about as butch as she is". One of my close lesbian friends is the butchest girl I know and she could literally kick anybody's ass

GSA here is student-based, sponsor was forbid by the school to be involved, so now she is a monitor but she is still pretty awesome. We have a lot of problems with administration and lack of students support because it is a club that is frowned upon so people don't want to get involved but we are stlll around Big Grin hopefully it will still be active after I graduate this year.

They are not just different from me. They are different from the rest of society, and PF here, is keen to letting everybody know how different they are from them, by forming a Student's association, and expecting people to overlook the gay factor.
Still, I do not fear the "other" more than he fears me, but if I have to, I make sure that he fears me more than I fear him.
Having said that, I was quite sincere in my opinion when I said that homosexuals should lay low in society, for their own wellbeing, as well as the preservation of the harmony present within society.
If any side breaks this harmony, they are to be held accountable. I have no intention of breaking this, and I expect the other side to do the same.

RE: Why Homosexuality is Okay
pf, that's really great that you did that for your school! Awesome! I wish we had thought of something like that when I was in high school. We only had one openly gay kid at my school. He was Edwardo since kindergarten, and then, our freshman year he came to school as Niki. We became really good friends because I got my ass kicked for him a lot. I was really interested in her because I had always felt strange about my own sexuality. I was always strongly attracted to men, repulsed by women, and was often accused of being gay myself because I think and act like a man. I even went to a school dance wearing a lavender suit and tie (and it was sparkly). Neither me, or my friend, Niki, was allowed entrance to that dance, unless we "wanted to switch clothes", as if her putting on my sparkly lavender suit would have made her less gay, and me more.. um.. not weird. LOL As my friend Amber put it, "She's a fairy man, but she's definitely a man in there.".

I've been in and out of love with gay men all my life, my best friend included, and he was in love with me too. That is immensely frustrating, but I loved him from the moment I saw him. I thought he was straight! My heart broke the minute I found out I could never have him in that way. I know what discrimination feels like first hand, and I'm not even technically a homosexual, or even bi-curious.

Someone in management leaked to the restaurant where we both worked that he was HIV positive. I almost got arrested for punching a man out right in the middle of the service line because he made a vile remark that isn't worth repeating. I was suspended for 3 weeks.

People are dicks, and I am a quietish person in real life, although I'm sure that's hard to believe. LOL But when someone pisses me off with ignorance and bigotry, something ignites in me, and I go off like a bomb.

Any time, pf... any time. Wink

And here come Turks, forming associations, letting everyone know just how different they are.....

But it is not we who are actually complaining about discrimination, not that I condone any kind of discrimination. But one needs to know where to stop.

I'm just the messenger, friend.
I follow the ways of my forefathers.

And we have done so when it was necessary.
If we'd come to your country, and demand that you're open schools that explicitely teach in Turkish, and give us a piece of land where we can conduct our own business, you'd drive us away, obviously.
If we mind our own business, and do not bother anyone, no one would bother us.

Oh, no cries from oppressed turkish peoples? Like cries of those terrible muslims and backstabbers who robbed you of your lands and culture...hmn

Your forefathers were obviously deeply flawed people, no worries, we're all in that boat.

You're not laying low right now...maintain the harmony! You cant talk about your forefathers, you can't talk about being a turk, you cant wear turkish anything, etc etc etc.

Are there many gays that demand that your schools teach in "Gayish"? Demanding they be given land because they are gay, to conduct gay business? Mind your own business? Obviously not, since you can't keep your personal business out of gay business in the first place. Would "being gay" qualify as "bothering" someone such as yourself?
