It's wonderful that many Christians do show respect for others, despite sexual preference or beliefs or lack there of. If every Christian was tolerant, I'd have nothing nasty to say about them, I'd be praising them for being so decent. I'll still think their beliefs are a little... weird but I'd have a lot of respect for them.
As Bertrand put it "Love is wise, hatred is foolish". Would be nice if every Christian knew that, and Muslim. Tolerance encourages peace, intolerance encourages conflict.

Let me get this straight: because Christians say such nasty things about some other group, it's okay for you to say nasty things about them.

Does that mean I can say nasty things about you, on the same principle?

One step at a time. They're showing tolerance, a good step. Still many more they have to make.

If people go around threatening hell, shoving their delusions down people's throats, I'm not going to be nice to them. It's expected. I will think little of you.
I happen to support them and their freedom. If crazy anti-freedom Christians start attacking them and their freedom, I'm going to have a problem with them. They're showing hatred and intolerance. I think they should be challenged and criticised for it.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Quote:Their holy books tell them that it is indeed sinful.

Their 'holy books' say a lot of stupid shit, mehmet. Those same books command xtians to kill disobedient children and people who work on the sabbath, too...among others...but they never seem to get around to bothering those classes of sinners.

And they weren't even holding signs that said "God hates fags."

I hate those signs for two main reasons, one it's intellectually dishonest and it's utterly pointless and without any thought or reason put into it.

It isn't "god hates fags" it's "I hate fags". I've never heard of god's opinion on the matter. God's existence hasn't even been demonstrated yet.
For some reason their god always agrees with them. First sign of delusion. God hates all the same people you do.

I'd love to do a spoof of that, holding up a sign outside Red Lobster saying "God Hates Crabs" with "Leviticus 11:9-12" underneath.

You know... I have to move to Cali. I just have to. Texas isn't worth it, trust me.

Me 2. But then I'd have to sin. Again! Twice!
