Why?

Why what?

Why would it have to be subtle about being athiest?

ἄθεος

or

ἀσεβής

http://translate.google.com/#auto|el|Atheist

Atheist = αθεϊστής

Pronounced "Ah-thee-stees"

Even here you have it spelt 3 different ways. How do you know which one came first for that matter how do you know that means what Wikipedia says it means? Are they ancient Greek or modern.

I agree with the OP and I would say I'll be damned if anyone scares me into being subtle. With you rockin' the Hitch av too I gotta think he wouldn't agree with you about subtle about your beliefs, sir.

The reason Im getting it in Greek is very important to the idea of the tattoo. No other language can take its place.

RE: Atheist tattoo advice
I would speak to an expert in Greek writing. Anything short of that could equal an epic fuck up.

On a side note, I completely agree with anyone getting any tattoo that has significant meaning to them. I love my tattoos and doubt I will ever see them as a mistake. One of them is completely unmistakable in anything less than a long-sleeved shirt. There is no shame or embarrassment in it. If it wasn't so fucking expensive, my arms, back and feet would be covered in them.
