A Methodist in Your Midst

RE: A Methodist in Your Midst
At least he's polite. So far anyway.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Welcome. You're not going to convert me, but that's okay. I'm happy the way I am.

See ya 'round! Big Grin

His pastor might as well sign up since it appears that most of what Christian has to say is just a regurgitation of what his pastor says.

Well that's what you think. With irrationality no intelligent discussion is possible.

Oh yes, he is. The only remaining reason he is still my flatmate.

I grew up around a few Methodists, they were a bit conservative.

They were teetotal

Also against sex (lest it lead to dancing) Their main concern seemed to be that somebody, somewhere, might be having a good time. They saw it as their duty to put a stop to it.

We called them "wowsers"

I did discuss some of the questions raised here with my pastor. He said that I should not hang around non-believers, as it will only make my faith weak. But I personally believe that talking to non-believers is just another way to see the truth is my belief. So I am not going to disappear from here but stay here and have fruitful discussions.

And you really don't see how cult like that advice is? Gee, next thing he will be asking for your money.

Good to see your acting of your own accord. Smile

My pastor is a learned person. I think he has authority to give me advise. And yes, I donate to my church every Sunday. It's my Christian duty to support my Church financially.
