How can you compare COD to Halo?

I can't really get into COD, I kinda enjoy the single player, but its over very very very fast compared to better games that last longer.
Online doesn't bother me too much, I simply don't have the time to get so good that I'm not just a whipping boy.. I still play the free online shooter Urban Terror, and frankly I've taken enough time to be kickass at that, I can't be bothered starting all over again  Lazy SoB that I am.

I prefer RPG's much more because they tend to have a lot more replay value than the overly commercial FPS's and sports games.
I've got into the habit of playing older games now as well. Been playing Rome Total War and Baldur's Gate 2 a lot lately on my PC. You realise that gaming nowadays is all about pumping out AAA titles and milking the consumer for as much cash as possible as quickly as possible. RE: How can you compare COD to Halo?

I agree, I finally stopped buying console games recently, and moved to renting from Lovefilm. Best decision ever.
Whip out the 8-10 hour playtime, send it back, don't feel like I paid £5 an hour. Completed 4 games in one month, kids get a disc each too, for £15 a month plus movie catalogue to stream online or through PS3. I only purchase games that can offer solid gametime now like Skyrim, Mass Effect.. so only RPG's now. I gave up on PC gaming, it got too expensive to keep them up to date. I might reconsider if there was a reasonable rental service for the PC.
