RE: Why do evolutionists protect endagered species???
Why do evolutionists protect endangered species???
(Here's what you've given me)
Answers received:
Tobie - motivated by his wishes and doesn't want the bumble bees that sustain his life to go away.
Paul the Human - motivated by his empathy and bad feelings. Also feels that it's his duty. Welsh Cake agrees.
Insanity X - motivated by "WANTS"
R-e-n-n-a-t - doesn't like it and doesn't want to be idle.
Begynol - feels responsible.
FaithNoMore - It's his "best interest" which contradicts his own screen name.
(My favorite!)
5thHorseman - Has become powerful enough to shape natural selection. WOW!

I didn't know I was going to strike such an emotional chord on this one.
Thanks everyone for responding!!!
James Holmes acted consistent with what evolution teaches. He evolved from an animal, and when he murdered those people, He acted like one. You can't say he's wrong since evolution made him that way.

I'm gonna respond to the original post. I don't know why others do it. I know why I'd want to protect some anyways. My father loves to watch birds. It's not a particular hobby for me but it is enjoyable. A lot of the animals going extinct are those that are beautiful. A lot of these animals are going extinct because of what humans have done, and those that evolve to fit the new environment may not be so pleasant.

Hey, the OP completely ignored my post. Smile Guess it's less painful for him to pretend that it doesn't exist than to admit that he has no comeback.

Also, I am not pretending to be female, this profile picture is my wonderful girlfriend. XD

Welcome to the club, mate. It's rather disheartening to bash out a lengthy, thoughtful reply only for it to be either ignored completely or generate a "Sez you!"-type response (which is basically, and paradoxically, ignoring with acknowledgement).
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Say what? What does my screen name have to do with anything?

P.S. It's the name of a band.

Which of those is a problem for you, and why?

By the way, a variety of answers is to be expected if there is no direct connection between accepting that natural selection plays a vital role in evolution and wishing to preserve species from extinction: every one who wishes to preserve species from extinction has a different reason than acceptance of natural selection for their desire to preserve.

*sigh*

If the natural evidence of the world.. contradicts your beliefs... maybe its time to rethink your beliefs, because you can't rethink the natural world.
Self-authenticating private evidence is useless, because it is indistinguishable from the illusion of it. ― Kel, Kelosophy Blog

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?
The f**king janitor or the dude who runs the waterslide. Throughout history every mystery. Ever solved has turned out to be. Not Magic.
