I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise

It's what he's good at.
And why shouldn't a person do what they are good at? In his case OFTEN! |

RE: Amazing Santorum Lie.
Dutch Ambassador: "Shouldn't he have his facts straight."
Only if you live in a country where the media does their fucking job and actually fact-check or challenge a politician whenever he just feels free to make shit up as he goes along. As it stands in my country, there is zero accountability for politicians (particularly conservative ones) and the press acts as a team of glorified stenographers. The right wing knows this and they're getting increasing bold in making shit up on the fly, knowing no one will ever challenge them. ...oh and I forgot to add that opposition politicians don't want to call them out for being liars either because that's so impolite. "You called him a liar. Oooo, that's so shrill. Why do you have to be so divisive?" |

RE: Amazing Santorum Lie.
On a bit of a sidetrack relating to fact-checking, our deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, used to be Christopher Hitchens' fact checker. Said it was the easiest job he'd ever had.

Said it was the easiest job he'd ever had. I have also found it easier to fact check atheist statements. Most of the time they cite their sources. Sometimes they even give you a link to that source just to make it easier to fact check them. |
