Precisely. When meeting a new community, whether online or in the real world, most people start with an introduction. It's not a rule here, but it is highly recommended because it's just common courtesy to introduce one's self in any social circle. If our new member is feeling hostility it is NOT because he didn't introduce himself, it is because of the way in which he begrudgingly did it - as some kind of martyr being picked on. Which was simply NEVER the case.

Ahhh, but he identifies himself as a "believer."

Of COURSE martyrdom is his intended goal; why should we ever think differently?

I'm going to start challenging every credulous idiot who registers on this forum to prove to everyone that they're not attempting martyrdom.

Let's see if any of them rise to the challenge...

Got to love it. The assumptions and leaps to conclusions you all make is very entertaining. I think I will leave you to your favorite game and just get some popcorn to munch on while you all debate why i am here.

I warned you that you aren't going to get away with the Goddidit stuff here.

Par for the course. i simply posted here so that I wouldn't be accused of avoiding people when they saw my silence for a few days.

DeeTee, I once had a pastor who would have had you reporting to the elders for the sort of behavior you've exhibited here. He always preached for us to be strong in defending our beliefs, but that we would be judged harshly for giving christianity a bad name by displaying a bad attitude towards nonbelievers - Jesus was supposed to be able to look into people's hearts and know how they would react to him, you do not have have that ability.

However, since becoming an atheist, I have discovered that this teaching is the exception rather than the rule and many (if not most) believers show up on this doorstep full of pride and swagger rather than love and humility. If there really was a trinity, I wonder how happy they would be with followers who think scoring 'points' is more important than gaining souls?

Like I said. Someone's suffering from a severe case of Unwarranted Self Importance.
