hello :-)
Yup the gay thing only got brought up the one time, I have always had a way of shutting them up when they judge me for stupid shit. My parents also thought I was in some heavy metal devil worshipping cult, pretty funny stuff. Sounds like my parents are a lot like yours. Oh well, their crazy beliefs make them happy, and sadly I think they're so entrenched in it that they would actually be worse off without them because of the guilt. I'm glad I found my way out when I did, even though it took about 3 years to actually get away from their church. For those 3 years I would get calls from the "elders" at least a couple times a week wanting to get together to discuss my faith. There was a couple times that I let them meet with me because I was broke and they'd take me out for lunch haha.

I think the final push that made me realize I was atheist was when the church sent a real nasty and hateful letter to a guy my age that was gay(although highly religious o.O ). At that time I was still on the fence on how I felt about homosexuality, but when I saw their letter I got extremely pissed off. How could a place that says that we are to love everyone and spread the word of god spew so much hate?

Seriously, I'd bring that up every chance I got and go:
"Hey... turns out I'm married with a kid and shiz... can you believe that? Because that earring theory? I really thought you had something there, that shit was scientifically sound as fuck. Where do you think it fell down? :-S"

You can be gay and be married with wife and kids you know. Sorry to reign on your parade.

But yes, it is incredibly stupid to think wearing earrings makes you gay.

Hi there! Welcome to AF! ^_^

(BTW, piercings and tattoos are awesome! Big Grin)
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Lies

No, it's not. And I speak from personal experience.

P.s Hi Epicfail, my mum is still not happy about me riding motorbikes and I'm almost 50.

Mind you, telling her how fast I ride was probably not politic.

If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

Wasn't being serious? His statement is obviously true?
