I do enjoy sleeping in on Sundays.

Best part of it.

Oh, and at my age not kneeling to some fucking non-existent god is better for the knees.

I'm just in it for the unadulterated blasphemy.

Blaspheming against the god we pretend isn't real in our religion is like a sentence enhancer - we blaspheme to talk fancy. I sprinkle the blasphemy over anything I want to say, and wham-O! I've got myself a spicy sentence sandwich!

My lips are already tingling at the spiciness and sophistication of this conversation! Big Grin

I've talked about it a lot on these forums but I've never stated the obvious and simply said: Isn't atheism brilliant?
Brilliant?
What makes it so brilliant?

I love atheism. I can finally watch Harry Potter!

(I grew up in a pretty strict family)

It wasn't that bad. It was quite liberal as far as fundie families go. But yeah, I'm 21, and I still haven't seen or read any Harry Potter.

My deconversion post is here: http://atheistforums.org/thread-12407.html

You can be an atheist and not be nihilistic. Existentialism, friend. I hope you become satisfied one way or the other. Smile

RE: Atheism
Excellent. My deconversion was rather uneventful.

You mean there were no explosions and gun fire involved?
