Of course you won't, because you're married to your idiotic fantasy. The fact that you think anyone should take you seriously here is simply testimony to your state of delusion.

I said those things because I'm tired of people turning around what I say when they (you) know what I mean, this is what a child would do. So it's not me that needs to grow up, however many here do.

Given that I used to consider myself a reborn Christian and never felt the Holy Spirit, I'm more inclined to believe that the Gospel authors such as the philosopher Luc Mestrius Plutarchus (who wrote Luke-Acts) were describing something different altogether.

Philosophers tend to think along the lines of reality and not supernatural stuff.

Growing up means giving up childhood fantasies, GC. You ready to let go of your make-believe friend and step over into maturity? When you are, let us know. Until then, the growing is all on you.

It is unlikely that Plutarch wrote any part of the bible. Please stop going on as if that is a fact.

Maybe the reason you never experienced the Holy Spirit is this, you considered yourself a christian and maybe God did not, just sayin.

People who give up all the things from their childhood are not grown up, they're boring.

That's why so many have trouble with the scriptures, they either read and get only a surface meaning from them,or the bring their own preconceived ideas into the reading of scripture and make those ideas fit the scriptures. Properly read one will allow the Holy Spirit to open up the word of God's truth and apply it to one's life. To many would rather make the scriptures fit their ideas and lifestyle.

I agree! Excellent insight.

Thanks Salty, glad to see you back.

RE: Understanding the bible
If you're suggesting that christianity is one of the exciting things to keep from childhood, you have been abused even worse than I thought.

But it is fun to see you dance around, moving your own goalposts.

I do not move goalposts, that would not be fair, especially to me.

Yeah that's fair enough. But because we're talking subjective experiences here, we'll never know for sure =)

I'm really really interested in hearing from people around here why he's not related to the early Christian writings. Sorry for making you bite, but why do you think it's unlikely?

No one is twisting your word, but basing your ideas on such an absurd source, it's no wonder that you'll eventually say stuff that contradicts itself. Perhaps one day you'll understand that.

Since you believe it's subjective maybe it is true God did not see you as a Christian, we could be getting closer to "sure." Though it seems subjective to you it's absolute for me.

Show me where I've contradicted myself in what I believe.
