"Pure OCD"

RE: "Pure OCD"
yeah i am pretty good at keeping a positive outlook on things and understand that it kind of comes and goes. it's definitely been at a peak the last year or so, and even though it is annoying, i do my best not to let it get to me or ruin my day.

it's pretty weird on days like today where i've had an awesome day, my wife and i found out that we're getting the house we want so i have a lot of positive anxiety since i'm so excited, which also tends to make my compulsions flare up. it is weird how it can flare up during negative or positive anxiety.

Wow! That happens to me too! I have never heard anybody say it, though. I can be totally pumped for something and then be too freaked out to do it.

yup! as much as i am annoyed by OCD it fascinates me at the same time. just recently i've decided to see if i can use it to my advantage. i'm a messy person, it drives my wife crazy--so i've started trying to turn cleaning out my car and keeping our house clean into a compulsion. i've been doing it about a month and so far it's worked, but it's starting to hit a snag since she doesn't always clean up after herself, leaves trash in my car, etc. i tend to get angry about it now. it's seemed to make her happier that i'm doing it though, so i guess it's working.

It is fascinating. I'm always finding out new, weird stuff about it and linking it to my poor boyfriend. I only recently found out that it is most neurological, which is a little comforting.

i've always been fascinated with psychology in general, i considered becoming a psychologist for quite some time but ultimately decided i liked psychology, but i would prefer to work with my hands rather than sitting in an office talking to people all day. i think my fascination with psychology has helped me get through a lot of the psychological problems i've been through, it helps me to constantly learn more about myself as well as the human mind. it's also one of the biggest things that led to me being an atheist, since i see religion as a big psychological trick.

I have am at the low end of the pure spectrum and the low/middle of the organisational. If you don't alphabetise your stuff, don't invite me round because i'll genuinely spend the whole time arranging shit. Plus it has to be largest stuff at the bottom if you stack, that's just common courtesy ._.
Religion is an attempt to answer the philosophical questions of the unphilosophical man.
