It's interesting that you use the phrase 'beaten up by people'. It suggests to me that you see this as more of a battle than a debate or discussion. If that is the case then you have only further confirmed what I already suspected.

Let me just go back and re-examine the definition you posted earlier; now that I can be bothered:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/stupid

a : slow of mind : obtuse b : given to unintelligent decisions or acts : acting in an unintelligent or careless manner c : lacking intelligence or reason : brutish
2
: dulled in feeling or sensation : torpid <still stupid from the sedative>
3
: marked by or resulting from unreasoned thinking or acting : senseless <a stupid decision>
4
a : lacking interest or point <a stupid event> b : vexatious, exasperating <the stupid car won't start>

So are you trying to say that theists are incapable of reason? Are you going to maintain that all theists are stupid? Further, would you say that anyone who is not an atheist is also stupid? I know I said I was done with you but I changed my mind, as is my wont.

By the way, knobhead, I'm not a religious, nor am I a troll. Are you stupid or something?

You don't think there's a war on atheism going on? You don't think it hasn't been going on for centuries? What fucking planet are you from?

Did I say that? You love fucking your little straw men, don't you? marked by or resulting from unreasoned thinking or acting doesn't mean "incapable". You really hate this idea of being stupid, don't you. It hurts you just a little too much.

You see the definition above. It fits.

Nice little straw man collection you have there.

The only war is the one that people like you pursue and enable. After all, you're supposed to be the one capable of reason, so why not reason?

A clarifying question is not a strawman. Fyi, the clones I spoke of before are fond of calling on the strawman too. Perhaps it's their God.

Again, it's a nice little collection of clarifying questions.

Now, let's address whether you called theists stupid or not, by going back to a quote from the previous page:

If that hurts, perhaps you need to take a look at why it hurts.

It wouldn't hurt me in the least if some idiotic theist claimed that NOT believing in fairy tales and superstitions is stupid. Go figure.

In any case, get over yourself.

You called theists stupid, it's right there in bold.

Row after Pope's remarks on atheism and Nazis

A speech in which the Pope appeared to associate atheism with the Nazis has prompted criticism from humanist organisations.

However, the Catholic Church has moved to play down the controversy, saying the Pope knew "rather well what the Nazi ideology is about".

Humanists have said the comments were a "terrible libel" against non-believers.

In his address, the Pope spoke of "a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society".

He went on to urge the UK to guard against "aggressive forms of secularism".

The Pope made his remarks in his opening address to the Queen at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

He said: "Even in our own lifetimes we can recall how Britain and her leaders stood against a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society and denied our common humanity to many, especially the Jews, who were thought unfit to live.

"As we reflect on the sobering lessons of atheist extremism of the 20th century, let us never forget how the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leads ultimately to a truncated vision of man and of society and thus a reductive vision of a person and his destiny."
'Highly political'

A statement from the British Humanist Association said the Pope's remarks were "surreal".

It said: "The notion that it was the atheism of Nazis that led to their extremist and hateful views or that it somehow fuels intolerance in Britain today is a terrible libel against those who do not believe in God.

"The notion that it is non-religious people in the UK today who want to force their views on others, coming from a man whose organisation exerts itself internationally to impose its narrow and exclusive form of morality and undermine the human rights of women, children, gay people and many others, is surreal."

The German-born Pope has previously spoken of his time growing up under the "monster" of Nazism.

He joined the Hitler Youth at 14, as was required of young Germans at the time.

Late on in WWII he was drafted into an anti-aircraft unit in Munich.

He deserted the German army towards the end of the war and was briefly held as a prisoner-of-war by the Allies in 1945.

The Pope's conservative, traditionalist views were intensified when teaching at the University of Bonn in the 1960s he was said to be appalled at the prevalence of Marxism among his students.

In his view, religion was being subordinated to a political ideology that he considered "tyrannical, brutal and cruel".

He would later be a leading campaigner against liberation theology, the movement to involve the Church in social activism, which for him was too close to Marxism.

When George Bush was campaigning for the presidency, as incumbent vice-president, one of his stops was in Chicago, Illinois, on August 27, 1987. At O'Hare Airport he held a formal outdoor news conference. There Robert I. Sherman, a reporter for the American Atheist news journal, fully accredited by the state of Illinois and by invitation a participating member of the press corps covering the national candidates, had the following exchange with then-Vice-President Bush.

Sherman: What will you do to win the votes of the Americans who are atheists?

Bush: I guess I'm pretty weak in the atheist community. Faith in God is important to me.

Sherman: Surely you recognize the equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans who are atheists?

Bush: No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.

Sherman (somewhat taken aback): Do you support as a sound constitutional principle the separation of state and church?

Bush: Yes, I support the separation of church and state. I'm just not very high on atheists.

Santorum told the audience that “what’s taught in our school system as a result of liberal academia, is evolution is an incontrovertible fact. There is no suspicion of it. It is decided science that cannot be questioned. There cannot be any doubts about it. If you have any questions or doubts, it’s trying to inject religion into the science classroom. So it is above reproach.”

“I obviously don’t feel that way. I think there are a lot of problems with the theory of evolution, and do believe that it is used to promote to a worldview that is anti-theist, that is atheist.”

“I said my amendment is about life. It’s about teaching the origins of life, and that you should have academic freedom in the classroom when you’re teaching about life.”

“Sex is a means, evolution is a means. And the aim is a secular world. It’s a, my opinion, a hedonistic, self-focused world, that is in my opinion anti-American.

Yes, and so what? But there is help for stupid people, because they can let go of their willful ignorance and become not-stupid. You should try it some time. In this case you would have to examine the phrase "marked by or resulting from unreasoned thinking or acting", and learn how to think and act reasonably, with reason rather than superstition. Reason is the Anti-Stupid. there is plenty of it here for you to imbibe, you should step away from the crack pipe and walk away from the DMT and try it sometime.

That was indeed a clarifying question. See above explanation of "marked by unreasoned thinking" and meditate on the difference between that and your straw man of "incapable of reason", and go fuck yourself in the process.

Hahahahahahaha ha ha ha, Jesus Christ you are dumb. Did you actually read any of the posts on my blog, or the about section for that matter? You really need to quit while you're behind because you're at serious risk of making yourself look really, really stupid. I'll give you one last chance, because I'm nice like that. *ignoring the absurdly long posts by Gringo and Taqi*

I agree with Frankiej, but I think god is on par with Dolores Umbridge, dressed up in pink fluff to seem sweet, but is actually quite the horrendous person. And most definitely fictional. So yes, I guess I dislike god as a character, but not as something real.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
