That is, actually, correct. No one uses a math textbook to prove math r a genetics textbook to prove evolution - they use it to learn about those subjects, once they are proven independently.

But suppose that the Bible actually contained a fantastic, valid, completely true and convincing argument that God existed. Would you reject this argument merely because it is located in the pages of the Bible?

The question is moot because the bible does not contain such a "fantastic, valid, completely true and convincing argument".

No more than this

can be used to prove the Force.

Spending your life waiting for the messiah to come and save the world is like waiting around for the straight piece to come in Tetris. Even if it comes, by that time you've accumulated a mountain of shit so high that you're fucked no matter what you do.

Remember, if we don't sin, poor old Jesus died for nothing.

If you are going to post in a public forum on the subject of God as an atheist, which is completely stupid in the first place, then you can expect to be called out and re-instructed from time to time until all of the theists are banned from doing so.

We don't ban for theism, we ban for stupid.

Nice. I've made one of these before, except mine isn't as flashy (I have limited Photoshop skills). And mine just illustrates the circular reasoning behind the inductive argument for God.

So fucking what?
Even if there is a god you STILL need to prove that the bible is written by him.
Now show the proof motherfucker.

Yeah, but seriously? Throw your holy book out. It proves God like my copy of Hansel and Grettel proves witchs.

This is the laziest counterargument I've ever seen. It's just a slightly-rephrased version of "The Bible isn't true", which is just as lazy an argument as saying "The Bible is true". And it's just as convincing.

That statement implies there was a legitimate argument to be countered.

RE: The Irrational Nature Of Atheism - An Explanation Of God, Gods And Goddesses
First of all there are only three things you need to know to disprove god.

God is all knowing, God is all loving, God is all powerful.

If god is all knowing, than the notion of free will, good and evil can be thrown out the window because god knows everything that has happend, is happening, and is going to happen. You think god designed child molesters knowing what they were going to do, and hates them for it?

If god is all loving, why does he kill more people in the bible than the devil? Why do countless people get raped, slaughtered and tortured? If he is all loving he should help right? because he is all powerful, and he knows exactly what is happening to you.

If god is all powerful, why doesn't he stop the bad things? He knows what's happening past, present, future. He is all loving, so his heart should break each time and he should rescue them. If he is all powerful, why create inperfect beings? Why have people born with mental or physical ailments? Why doesn't he fix the crazy people?

I remember you said something about a perfect being, but he cannot have emotions and be perfect, emotions are what make us imperfect and we are created in his image. So best to say he is just like us, imperfect, not caring, limited in power and knowledge. Because he fucked up somewhere when he made us and cannot or will not fix it. lol
Live every day as if already dead, that way you're not disappointed when you are. Big Grin
