RE: Religious Discrimination
In answer to the OP; I was a hiring manager and I hired people on their merits for the job. I wanted competent, efficient people working for me, and I would often add extra questions to determine how they would cope with specific situations relevant to the role.

RE: Religious Discrimination
Alright, CliveStapes, I doubt we will agree about whether or not a Christian is equally likely to be all-around logical in other contexts, but your more recent point about the morality of it has me stumped (because it could take other forms that illustrate your point well). For example, a study might come out that shows a correlation between playing 3D shooting games and murder. It seems wrong to discriminate over that and I think it can be analogous to religion. So, good job. I think my own answer to the OP I made is "no."

RE: Religious Discrimination
It would really depend on the type of atheist. If they were just your typical atheist, then I would have to find out more information on the two candidates to see who had more skill. If they were like the Atheists on this site showing a lack of reasoning and coping skills, I would go with the Christian.
