Because in the example of Francis Collins we find someone qualified in X (science) who comments on subjects related to Y (theology)—whereas in your example we find a guy qualified in X (Greek mythology) who comments on subjects related to X (Greek mythology). Absolutely no fucking correspondence at all.

So someone qualified on the topic he writes an essay about does look stupid and someone who has different qualifications doesn't? Even though they both write and talk about something they have nno evidence for and only have their faith to rely on.

I am an atheist but I comment on theology all the time since I have been to the seminary and have studied and preached the bible for several years.Just because I have changed my views over the years does not make me unqualified to comment on what I believed in formerly.
