Does this advice also apply to completely new users? I imagine it will be quite hard to get started as a lot of people will think "7 followers... can't be that interesting". I shall persevere and hopefully reach 10 by the end of the week Tongue

There are a few atheist "tweeter" lists, I forget the links to them. Obviously if you have a blog you can promote yourself that way. But as a new tweeter the best way to gain followers if you want to use it for Atheist tweeting is to friend prominent atheist tweeters and constantly post content. Eventually they will follow you back and you will get seen.

It applies to absolutely anyone (especially new users!). If you post good stuff, reply, retweet, etc you will get followers very quickly.

I do suggest using the search keywords option in Twitter. Have a live feed of things you are interested in, and reply to them!
