Yeah, that miracle being Jesus actually turning up tomorrow in order for him to point and say I told you so. At this point I think that's all he has left.

I don't really know whether or not chippy will reply again. He told me that he would post his response in a couple of days, but 2 weeks have already gone by since he said that.

DeistPaladin, you may go ahead and post your closing arguments, if you wish to, or you can still wait. It's up to you.

I have a solution. Let DP post his prepared closing remarks in this thread. Chippy could of course use these remarks to his/her advantage; however, DP will still be given the privilege of a final retort in the formal debate thread. DP would have to agree to these terms of course.

It really was a short and sweet ass kicking of a debate by DP.

I can't imagine anywhere Chippy can go from here. All I can see is for him to reiterate his already refuted points.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Thanks but as soon as I get over this head cold and can think straight, I'll post my conclusion. Chippy can post a novel afterwards if he likes but unless he can either find some new yet-undiscovered evidence or come up with some way to breathe life into the TF, I think we can stick a fork in that chicken.

Give me a day or two. I still feel like my head is somewhere in the Ozone layer. I hate colds.

RE: Discussions on "Are the Gospels based on a true story?" debate
Hi,

as I am currently debating in another part of this forum, the reason why I believe the gospel to be a true record is that I have experienced miracles of my own in Jesus name, and I have friends who have experienced even greater things than I have. If you want to read about my experiences go to http://www.futureandahope.net it contains some of the things God has done in a miraculous way in my life.

Joh 3:18 -21 No one who has faith in God's Son will be condemned. But everyone who doesn't have faith in him has already been condemned for not having faith in God's only Son. The light has come into the world, and people who do evil things are judged guilty because they love the dark more than the light. People who do evil hate the light and won't come to the light, because it clearly shows what they have done. But everyone who lives by the truth will come to the light, because they want others to know that God is really the one doing what they do.
Hey I love God he is awsome.

I'm glad to hear that you've had some good experiences and it works for you but this isn't evidence that should compel anyone else to believe.

It's the same way with my deism. My own instincts are not grounds for anyone else to believe.
