Nothing but a farce!

So the climate conference in Doha (Quatar) has started this week and officialy goverments and party fractions still hold on to their goal to keep the average rise of global temperatur below 2 C°.
But experts on climate change agree, the project has failed.
Regulations set by goverments or eaven suggestions proposed have collapsed under pressure by the economy or others. The EU goal of limiting average CO2 emissions by cars to maximal 95 gramms has failed because of the resistance within the EU parlament.
The question of climate change which use to be a subject of major importents has degressed into a issue which has been pushed to the edge of non-pressing matters. With this the climate conference has degressed into a bizar ritual in which participants debate over a goal (2 C° goal) which cannot be reached.
But activits refuse to accept that, in the belief that it could lead to less ingagement into solving the problem if less severe rules are set. And politicians generaly fear to accept failure, especialy in Europe which proposed the the 2 C° goal.
One great contributer to the failure of the project has been the finacial crisis which forced goverments to invest in less risky projects and rely on less climat friendly energy sources. European nations have cut spending into climat friendly energy sectores and the coal production is on the rise in Europe.
What use is a conference, debating on how to reach a goal which cannot eaven be achieved anymore?
